Does Tutelary read all of my email?
Tutelary requests Gmail API access (gmail.readonly/gmail.modify) to scan incoming messages, plus a 30-day backfill for context. It doesn't forward mail elsewhere, and staff don't have routine access to message content — access exists to run detection, not to browse your inbox.
How does the detection actually work?
Every message is scored with rule-based detection plus sender and link reputation checks (Google Web Risk, AbstractAPI). Flagged emails trigger a trusted-contact alert, typically within minutes — Tutelary polls your inbox on a short interval rather than once a day.
Can my trusted contact see my whole inbox?
No. A trusted contact only sees what you consent to share; higher access levels require a separate consent step. Every view of your flagged-email data is logged, and you can revoke access anytime.
What happens when my free trial ends?
Trials run 14 days with Basic-tier features, regardless of the plan you pick. A card is required up front, and billing starts automatically if you don't cancel first.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — cancellation is self-service, no phone call or retention pitch required.
Do you sell my data?
No. We only share data with the vendors needed to run the service — Google, Stripe, SendGrid, Twilio, and our threat-reputation providers — never for resale or advertising.
What happens to my data if I delete my account?
Deletion requests are honored within 30 days. Gmail OAuth tokens are deleted immediately on disconnect; some de-identified data may be kept briefly for service integrity, never to identify you.
A full privacy policy, reviewed by legal counsel, will be published before launch.
